Born and raised in the South, Zack is no stranger to the reach and influence of evangelicalism in America.
From vacation bible school, AWANA, and three services on Sunday, his world revolved around the church. Add to that being homeschooled from K-12, all social interactions were filtered through a religious worldview, more specifically, the Southern Baptist worldview.
From ages five to twenty-two, there was no question where Zack stood on Christianity and the evangelical agenda. He was in. After becoming a father at 22, his perception of life, death, faith, and a loving God all came into question. This started a long journey of deconstruction that led to him fully stepping away from Christianity and adopting a more humanist worldview. Although his personal beliefs have changed, his interest in the psychology of religion and faith has grown. Zack lives outside of Bangor Maine with his wife and two children.
